As a survey on the cinema history , one may finds out that the short film ancientness is more outstanding than the professional cinema as Feature film industry .The very first images created by “ Lumier Brothers “ in 1895 in Paris , were only simple short films with simple titles .Gradually , others began to make short films with 1 up to 1:05 minutes running time .
Later , the first studios and theatres were established in order to produce and screen short films and little by little the industry of cinema was formed and distributors , producers and directors started their work with making feature films since they could not take the right benefit economically .
As a conclusion , the theatres did not screen the short films anymore ; therefore there were no more audience ever after . In fact , short films became just an initiative path for learning the rules and regulations for directing feature films and this is not fair to consider short films the very first step for professional productions. Experiences show that more attention must be paid in this regard. Short film domestic and foreign festivals are made only for competitions while there should be considered a special place for them .

Cinema Farda Short Film Center intend to promote the industry of short filmmaking in all genres ( spiritual and religious ,drama , Live action, Documentary , animation , comedy , experimental , ...) ,to encourage the filmmakers to make short films especially the young ones , to hold critic weeks and meetings to review short films internationally and to do business in this case as well by holding film weeks and markets .
At the moment this center screens short and documentaries in our own theatre halls and there is a press conference and critic's meeting after each screening . We provide brochures and information for public interest as well as reflecting domestic and foreign news through our site . We also intend to perform an educational plan like short film screenwriting workshops .Production and co-production of short films are another phase of our career . We have a strong relation with great organizations here like TV networks and ministry of culture , etc.
Cinema Farda is able to act as an agent of any international short film association and community in Tehran/ Iran and would like to have an interactive Cultural cooperation like reflecting the exclusive news and vice versa as an agent here , producing and co-producing short and documentaries .
